Hello! My name is Nisia Patalan and I have been in the field of education for...my whole life!
My professional interests are wide ranging and include gifted and culturally and linguistically diverse education (I hold Master's degrees in both).
My professional experience includes general education (primary grades), graduate level instruction, gifted specialist, school leadership, grant leadership to increase diversity in the gifted population.... and beyond! In addition to creating engaging workshops and presentations, I currently work as a consultant for the CDE Office of Gifted Ed. and am the Gifted Coordinator for the region that encompasses my hometown of Durango, CO.
I believe in innovation, equity, kindness, and curiosity; and, I love to work with systems (large and small) to increase access, opportunity, and understanding. Our educators and students deserve it!
